The water circulation system in a waterfall pool is based on a closed cycle, where the same water is constantly recycled. The water is drawn from the pool through a special point, such as the suction or skimmer, and is led to a pump. This pump is responsible for pushing the water to the top of the waterfall.

From there, the water passes through pipes—usually made of durable material such as PVC or stainless steel—and ends up at the waterfall outlet. Through the spout or special structure, the water falls freely back into the pool, creating the visual and acoustic effect of a waterfall. Once the water returns to the pool, the suction and circulation cycle begins again.

The system includes basic components, such as the pump, piping, a switch or timer to control operation, and optional filters to purify the water. The pump must be resistant to chemicals (such as chlorine) and suitable for continuous operation.

For better results, LED lighting, a sensor or automation can be integrated, while it is important to have proper sealing and flow regulation so that the water falls evenly and without splashes.
